ABOUT THE CHALLENGE
The global Floating Wind Challenge stimulates young engineers to design and build the best floating wind support structure. For the 2027 edition engineering students have to build the best floating wind support structure for a Vevor 500W turbine!
The location for the 2027 competition will be determined over the coming months. The timeline will largely follow the 2026 edition, which can be accessed using the link below.
2026 EDITION
After a selection process with more than 20 registrations, we welcomed 12 teams to Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône, France for the final competition of the Floating Wind Challenge 🇫🇷 We started off with a presentation day, where students could present their structure ahead of the competition day, when they had to install their structure offshore 🌊 All teams compete to design and build the best floating support structure for a 500W Vevor wind turbine 💨
