ABOUT THE CHALLENGE

The global Floating Wind Challenge stimulates young engineers to design and build the best floating wind support structure. For the 2026 edition engineering students have to build the best floating wind support structure for a Vevor 500W turbine

 

The location for the 2026 competition will be announced later in 2025, the timeline can be accessed using the link below.

2025 EDITION

After a selection process with more than 20 registrations, we welcomed 14 teams to Zeebruges, Belgium for the final competition week of the Floating Wind Challenge 🇧🇪 A new edition to the challenge was the presentation day, where students could present their structure ahead of the competition day, when they had to install their structure offshore 🌊 All teams compete to design and build the best floating support structure for a 500W Vevor wind turbine 💨
